How to use Smart Feeds

Welcome to our new Smart feeds feature, an intuitive and easy to use tool to help you export your product information to CSV files. The options are endless. 


We’ve written a quick how to guide to help you with your set up. Please find the steps below:


  1. Select Feed management 


  1. Select Channel Management and scroll down



  1. Under ADD SMART CSV FEED, click the pen icon





  1. Enter Feed name, currency and select which products you wish to include



Optional:


  • Feed compression


Reduces the amount of space need to store data. Use this option if you wish to free up valuable space on your hard drive, or web server. 


  • FTP upload


Select this if you with to upload the file to another server. You can select this button if you wish to transfer files to other servers. 


  • FTP URL


Enter the URL you wish to send the file to.


  • FTP username


    Provide your username for the url you are sending the file to


  • FTP Password


Provide your password for the url you are sending the file to 





This area is used for marketing and remarketing purposes. Only enter information if you wish to track how your product is selling


  • Source


Source provides information about the referrer. Who brought you the traffic. E.g. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google Ads


  • Medium 


Medium provides information about how the traffic got to you. Was it direct (straight to your website) or organic (someone typed it into the search bar) or was it a media link on social media?


  • Campaign


Campaign provides information about why that traffic came to you. Was it a specific launch or a promotion or a specific category.



  1. Once you’ve entered all the relevant information, select SAVE. 


  1. Select the Spanner icon - this is where you’ll start building your Smart Feed.


  1. Under Required field enter information you wish to include in your export (for example, product ID, product title, product GTIN, product description, etc).


  1. Under Map to your field select the relevant field associated with the required field (e.g. product id = id, product title = title, GTIN = GTIN).


  1. Then select the data type - whether it be string, Boolean or integer. This selection helps shoppingfeeder determine how to read the specific data you’re looking for. 


  1. Click SAVE

 

 

Field operators and Custom filters works the same 

 

 


 

When clicking on the link - the feed URL is displayed

 

 

 

 

When you copy the link and paste it into a browser the CSV file is downloaded

 

 

You will see the CSV visible in your browser as below.
